Today we went to visit Cashfax Lottery member John Allen who recently celebrated his 100th birthday.

John, who considers himself one of the “lucky ones” after serving six years in the Second World War and surviving Dunkirk, is still fit and well and up until recently walked his dog every day.

He puts his good health down to a bowl of porridge and a roast dinner every day.

Richard Watmough from the Cashfax Lottery said, ” It was lovely meeting John and his daughter. He had some amazing stories from the war and his earlier years and it really is hard to think that he is 100 years old, he’s so fit and well. I think I’ll have a bowl of porridge every day from now on.”

Pictured is John, with his photo that was sent to him by the Queen tocelebrate his birthday.
